Marks, a senior middle blocker, racked up 14 kills, four blocks and four digs as the Lancers opened the National Invitation Volleyball Tournament with a 3-2 victory over Little Rock on Nov. 29, then had six kills, three blocks and two digs as Tulane knocked the first-year Division I program out of the tournament with a 3-1 victory.

Valenzuela, a sophomore guard, had nine points, six rebounds and two assists in a 94-62 loss to Azusa Pacific, then had 11 points and three boards in an 82-53 loss to Biola.

Ezra Kiedrowski

Semi-pro: Team Trouble

Ezra made his first start for Team Trouble of the ABA on Saturday, helping the squad beat Oakland 151-90 to improve to 5-2 with seven points, six rebounds, three steals and an assist.

Adam Gotelli

Gotelli, a junior guard, had eight points in a 91-66 loss to William Jessup, then had 14 points, three rebounds and two steals in an 84-71 win over Menlo.

Evan Madill

Madill, a junior guard, had five points and three rebounds in the Keelhaulers’ 95-88 win over Cal Miramar.

David Lerma

Lerma, a senior guard, had two points and a rebound in a 91-65 loss to North Central (Minn.), then had eight points and seven boards in a 75-66 win over Northland.

Anthony Lewis

Lewis, a junior guard, had five points and three rebounds in a 91-70 loss to Coast Guard Academy, then had five points, four boards and four assists in a 110-90 win over St. Joseph’s (Vt.).

Cavero, a sophomore, placed third at the Battle of the Rockies in Great Falls, Mont., going 3-1 with a pin over Jamestown’s Myranda Velazquez.

Haley Boynton

Sport: Cross country

College: Chico State

Boynton, a sophomore, placed 103rd in the NCAA Division II Championship Meet, taking the 6-kilometer course in 24 minutes, 25.6 seconds. Chico placed eighth as a team.

Johnny Smith

High school: Liberty Ranch

Sport: Football

College: Sacramento City

Smith, a sophomore defensive lineman, had two tackles and a sack as Sac City lost 24-10 to Sierra in the NorCal Grizzly Bowl.

Alexa Brand

High school: Lodi

Sport: Basketball

College: Delta

Brand, a sophomore guard, had three points, seven rebounds and two assists in a 111-72 win over Riverside, 12 points and five boards in an 81-64 win over Chabot, three points and two steals in a 61-59 loss to Sacramento, and three points in an 81-75 loss to Ventura.

Jalen Valverde

Valverde, a sophomore guard, had 10 points, six assists and five rebounds in a 70-65 win over West Valley, then had six points, three assists and three boards in a 112-55 loss to San Francisco, and had 12 points, seven assists and five rebounds in a 78-71 win over College of the Sequoias.

Jimmy Beltz

Beltz, a freshman guard, had nine points and two rebounds against West Valley, five points against San Francisco, and 22 points, two assists and two boards against Sequoias.

Monteiro, a sophomore forward, had 23 points, eight rebounds and two assists against West Valley, six points, five rebounds, three assists and two steals against San Francisco, and 10 points and four rebounds against Sequoias.
