A late goal sent Lodi’s girls soccer team to a 2-1 loss to Tracy, breaking a 1-1 tie on Thursday to keep the Flames in a third-place tie with West in the Tri-City Athletic League standings.
After a closely-fought first half, Tracy scored with about a minute left to play and went into halftime up 1-0. Lodi responded early in the second half, with a penalty-kick goal from Ally Bender. But as time wound down, the Bulldogs scored off a corner kick to maintain a cushion in the second-place spot in the TCAL.
Lodi (3-5 in the TCAL) will host West (2-3-3) on Tuesday, and the winner will have the inside lane to the TCAL’s third playoff spot.
