Heritage Elementary School and Needham School held a Gang Resistance Education and Training program graduation at their respective schools in late May.

Lodi Police School Resource Officer Raul Trevino, Officer Jim Pendergast, Capt. David Griffin, Cpl. Misty Springmeyer and Police Chief Mark Helms were on hand to speak to the students.

The Garibaldi company, represented by Ana Benson, sponsored the program at Heritage. Retired police officer, Shana Lopez, and members of her Rotary Club also donated to the GREAT Program as well as Crime Stoppers.

Needham school was taught by Officer Rench and sponsored by Sorority Omega Nu. We would like to thank the Sorority, Craig Norton and Shelby Norton-Moran.

The graduation at Heritage school included talks from the officers and chief, a rap that the students collaborated on and performed for Trevino and Pendergast, the school’s GREAT instructors, and cake.
