Hard work and passion are just two words to describe the Tokay FFA Chapter’s visit to the 87th annual State FFA Leadership Conference. FFA chapters all throughout California attended the California State FFA Leadership Conference in Fresno, where they elected the new State FFA Officers and accepted awards.
Six hard-working, dedicated and passionate members of the California FFA are elected to be state FFA officers each year. The rigorous application, testing and interviewing process has taken place over the last few months. Tokay FFA member Breanna Holbert took that leap and participated in this intense process. After three days of interviewing at the State FFA Convention, Breanna Holbert was elected by the CA FFA delegates to serve the California FFA as the State Secretary. Breanna will now serve the CA FFA over the next year by visiting FFA chapters as well as facilitating FFA Leadership Conferences and attending other State and National FFA Conventions. Breanna is the first State FFA Officer elected from the Tokay FFA.
The Tokay FFA and Tokay High School community could not be more proud of Breanna and her accomplishments. Being a state officer is a huge opportunity and an experience of a lifetime. We know that Breanna will be an amazing officer and can’t wait to see her experience this new chapter in her life. Breanna will do amazing things for California FFA as she is dedicated and passionate for FFA and agriculture. After Breanna’s year of service to the CA FFA, she will attend California State University, Chico and major in agriculture education. She plans on being an agriculture teacher in the future.
Eli Barila is a senior in the Tokay FFA Chapter. Eli attended the 87th Annual State Conference this year while playing in the State FFA Band for his second year in a row. The chapter is so proud of Eli for showcasing his talent of playing the saxophone and for representing Tokay FFA in the state band.
Daniel Moules and Alejandro Santillan were both regional proficiency winners with their hard work on their Supervised Agricultural Experience Projects and moved on as state finalists. Alejandro was a finalist in the proficiency category of Viticulture and Daniel Moules was a finalist in the category of Dairy Production. Both of these FFA members put so much work and dedication into their projects. We couldn’t be more proud of everything they have done. Daniel Moules was announced as the State Winner for Dairy Production and will now be considered as a National Finalist. He will have the opportunity to compete at the National FFA Convention in October in Louisville, Ky.
The 87th State Leadership Conference will definitely be a conference that will go down in the books at the Tokay FFA Chapter. We are so proud of all of our hardworking members and the passion they have for agriculture. Keep up the great work everybody and we are so happy of everything you have accomplished and can’t wait to see what the future has in store for you.
