Lodi Elks volunteer to help at Hospice Kentucky Derby

Grace Percell served dessert at the Hospice Kentucky Derby event in May.

Lodi Elks Lodge No.1900 donated their kitchen facilities, food and members to volunteer in cooking bread pudding dessert for more than 430 people on May 2 for the Hospice Kentucky Derby, held at the Sargent Equestrian Center.

All proceeds went to Hospice House in Stockton, which services all of San Joaquin County. Julie Traxler was the chairman in charge, with assistance in cutting up the bread from Eileen Dugan and Jeff Lodi, and her mother, Grace Percell, who helped mix, bake, cut up and serve the dessert.
