The Lodi Woman’s Club recently honored ladies, Vesta Mason and Gwen Tecklenburg. During the “big” war (1940), a young lady joined the Woman’s Club of Lodi. Her name is Vesta Mason and she has been a faithful member of the club for 75 years. Vesta was club president in 1951 and 1952, 1978 and 1979, and again in 1980 and 1981.
She has held other executive offices in the Woman’s Club also. On April 3, 2015, the local club, the state club, and the National Federation of Woman’s Club of America honored Vesta Mason with a special proclamation, flowers, cheers, and a standing ovation. Mason still attends the club meetings held on the first Friday of the month on a regular basis. What a club member!
In 1948, Gwen Tecklenburg joined the Woman’s Club of Lodi. Tecklenburg has had her own business, The Flower Basket, on Cherokee Lane. She has helped in different capacities all through her 67 years as a club member. Tecklenburg is 99 years young and still drives herself to the monthly luncheon meetings. She is always fashionably dressed with her hair and nails done. Tecklenburg was recognized by our local club, the state club, and the National Federation of Woman’s Clubs on April 3, 2015. She was given flowers, cheers, and a standing ovation.
These are two of the outstanding ladies in the Lodi Woman’s Club we are honored to have as members!
