The Lodi Mexican American Lions Club, chartered nearly 30 years ago as a service club, recently celebrated the chartering of the first-ever LEO'S Lions Club in Lodi, on May 21 at the Moose Lodge located at 3824 E. Woodbridge Road, Acampo.

Leadership, citizenship, service and opportunity are the goals and objectives of the LEO's Club. The club is comprised of Tokay High School Students in grades 9 thru 12.

At this same meeting, the sponsoring Lions Club added four new members to its ranks. The service organization is always looking for new members as help is needed to perform Lodi community based projects such as scholarships, clothing and food donations to the needy of Lodi.

The officers are Rachel Runion, director; Roberto Cuen, past president; Isabel Arias, president elect; Marie Contreras, advisor; Dave Sanchez, LEO advisor; Paola Ochoa, vice president; Melissa Villalobos, secretary; Vanessa Valencia, treasurer; Jose Magalian, member; Daniel Contreras, member; Gary Benincasa, incoming Lions Club president; and Antonio 'Tony' Amador, advisor.

New members are Phil Orosco, Ruben Becerra, Ester Oki and Marie Contreras.
