On May 25th, Lodi Elks Lodge No. 1900 held a Memorial Day service for all Veterans and members. A free lunch for Veterans was served at noon thanks to the cooks and servers: Pauline Meyer, Sandy Simmons, Nuel Henderson, Nancy Sanguinetti, Marion Tindle and Rose Deak. Cookies were donated by the Lodi American Legion Post No. 22 Auxiliary. A ceremony followed at the Masonic Cemetery in Woodbridge at 1:30 p.m.
Guest speaker was Nancy Sanguinetti, Navy Veteran. Master of Ceremonies was Charlene Johnson, Exalted Ruler. Hal Laney, past AVP, did the pledge of Allegiance. Eileen Dugan, Chaplain, gave the opening and closing prayer. Sue Sandeen presented the Lodi Elks Veterans Wreath. Member Lee Reich presented the POW wreath. Dr. Raphael Pazo, bagpiper, played Amazing Grace and Fred McKendry played Taps. Musical selections by the Lodi Community Band played throughout the ceremony and was conducted by David Olson.
