The Heimat Choir of Stockton will be performing at the American Historical Society of Germans from Russia (AHSGR) meeting at 2 p.m. on April 26 at the First Baptist Church at 267 N. Mills Ave, Lodi. They will sing German folk songs, spring songs, canons and other songs including some surprises. We hope you can attend.

The Heimat Choir was founded in 1969 by Hans Kopes and a few Germans who wanted to continue the tradition of singing Heimat songs (songs of our homeland). The choir director is Kimberly Watts-Willis who has directed for the past 20 years.

The choir is now in its 46th year. Today, there are about 20 members and they are looking for new members who would like to keep the tradition going. They rehearse from the beginning of September until May and present about four concerts a year and when other opportunities arise.
