Lodi Women’s Connection had a very special “Men’s Morning Brunch” at the Woodbridge Golf and Country Club recently. Along with our women of the community who regularly attend, men were also invited to this special event. We featured Wade Heath, a columnist for more than a decade for the Lodi News-Sentinel who now is a leader in the Walt Disney Company and CEO of his nonprofit, Do Good, Be Good Inc., who inspired us to make a difference in our communities and to be the best we can be.
We were also entertained by Dana DeMoulin, vocalist and guitarist. The inspirational speaker for the event was Chris Davis, a successful businessman, who told how he reached the top after hitting the bottom. The event was very successful with 122 persons attending and all enjoyed a delicious brunch.
The planning committee, volunteers of the Lodi Women’s Connection, were responsible for planning this event as well as all of the monthly brunches throughout the year with a special feature, music and inspirational speaker. This organization also offers weekly bible studies on various topics and a monthly prayer connection coffee. It is nondenominational.
Lodi’s group is one of many that meet internationally through the leadership of Stonecroft Ministries (stonecroft.org), which has been in existence for 76 years. Forty thousand volunteers in 65 counties are involved in outreach groups. The Lodi group has been meeting for more than 30 years and at one time was called Christian Women’s Club of Lodi. The goal of this organization is to help women connect to one another and to God and discover spiritual meaning as a woman in today’s society. We especially invite newcomers to Lodi and all women of the community.
Our meetings are always held at the Woodbridge Golf and Country Club from 10 to 11:45 a.m. on the fourth Wednesday of the month except for November and December when the date is changed to the third Wednesday due to the holidays. Please call Belen at 612-2570 for reservations and additional information.
