Workers from the Environmental Design Company carefully bring a nearly 40-foot-tall, 100-year-old Canary Island date palm tree to a standing position near the intersection of East Highway 12 and Sunrise Street in Victor on Wednesday, Aug. 29, 2012. The tree is one of more than 30 that will eventually be planted on the Victor Vineyards/Fruit Growers property which is being remodeled to become a full fledged “Wine Mall.” The trees are being planted ahead of construction since, according to Victor Vineyards owner Robert Lawson, it takes them at least 6 months to take root.
