Concerns about Lodi’s homeless problem discussed

For more than two and a half hours on Monday evening, Lodi residents heard updates from City of Lodi staff and others, then shared their concerns and questions about Lodi’s homeless residents.

The meeting comes after about three years of effort by two volunteer organizations, the Lodi Committee on Homelessness and Take Back Lodi, have turned the city into a role model for cities across the country, San Joaquin County Supervisor Chuck Winn said. At the federal level, members of Congress and officials with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development are pointing to Lodi as an example of success.
