On Sunday, Lodi Community Outreach will host the annual Mother’s Day Memorial Butterfly Release to remember and honor loved ones.
The hour-long program supports those who are experiencing the loss of a parent, loss of a child, or general loss of a friend or loved one. Invited speakers will share messages of hope and healing, and there will be an uplifting special performance.
At the end of the program, each guest will receive a live butterfly. Together they will release their beautiful butterflies into the sky as a symbol of love, transformation and hope.
“Remembrance events are an important part of healing,” said Christine Taylor, Lodi Funeral Home manager and director. “Our desire is to provide comfort and encouragement to those in our community who have experienced loss. Lodi Community Outreach is committed to offering quality healing experiences for all those affected by loss.”
The Mother’s Day Memorial Butterfly Release is one of many activities and events conducted throughout the year by Lodi Community Outreach, a program of Lodi Funeral Home. Events focus on everything from grief and loss to everyday living and well being.
The Mother’s Day Memorial Butterfly Release is free and open to the public.
The event will begin at 4 p.m. inside the chapel at Lodi Funeral Home, 725 S. Fairmont Ave., Lodi.
