LODI — Vienna Nursing and Rehabilitation Center has been recognized as a 2016 recipient of the Bronze-Commitment to Quality Award for their dedication to improving the lives of residents through quality care.

The center was recognized for its Music and Memory Program which started in May 2015 and helps improve the lives of those struggling with Alzheimer’s and dementia by reducing the need for anti-anxiety and hypnotic drugs. It works by providing music that residents grew up loving, and makes previously unresponsive or difficult to reach residents smile, sing tap and sometimes dance.

The award is the first of three distinctions possible through the National Quality Award Program, from the American Health Care Association and National Center for the Assisted Living.
