Lodian Ron Portal on Tuesday received a call from someone claiming to work for the San Joaquin County Registrar of Voters, he said, who told him that there was a mistake in the wording for Proposition 6 — which would require voter approval for certain fuel taxes and vehicle fees — on the sample ballot.

“It was a simple message, it only lasted maybe 30 seconds,” Portal said. “They said if I was pro-Prop 6 — which I am — they said to vote ‘no’ because the wording is different. They said ‘if you want to vote yes on the proposition, you should vote ‘no.’”
