Focus put on busing Lodi students

Lodi Unified School District officials and local groups met Tuesday afternoon to assess the distance and safety issues that middle and high school students living on Lodi’s east side confront on their way to school.

“Most people say that walking to school isn’t that big of a deal, but when your walk takes 53 minutes in the morning and afternoon then it becomes a different story,” said Mark Price, a pastor at St. Paul Lutheran. “There is a very obvious dividing line in this town and that line divides us economically, racially, and now academically.”
