Harold and Bernice Rohrbach celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary on April 1 with a dinner and dance at the Lodi Eagles Lodge.
The Rohrbachs were born and raised near Eureka, S.D. They were married in the town’s Zion Lutheran Church on April 6, 1947.
The couple farmed and Harold Rohrbach taught in a one-room country school for four years. Following that, they operated a beer bar and bowling alley in Eureka, S.D.
In September 1953, they moved west to Lodi, where Berenice Rohrbach worked as lead payroll from Lodi Unified School District and Harold was manager of Northern California Fruit Co. until their retirements.
The couple enjoys traveling, camping, playing cards and spending time with family and friends.
The Rohrbachs, who now live in Woodbridge, celebrated their anniversary with a dinner party and dancing attended by 135 of their friends and family members.
Music was provided by Dallas Knapp. The cake was made by their granddaughter, DeEtte Price of Reno. The prayer was given by Todd Hausauer.
Special guests were niece Violet Nitschke of Galt; niece Geraldine and Les Huber of Eureka, S.D.; great-niece Miranda and Marc DelFiacco of Minnesota; and niece Dellas and Don Singer of Minnesota. Other guests were their son Ken Rohrbach and his wife Bonnie, and daughters Kathleen Pisciotta and Karen Rohrbach.
Other guests and family members came from Hanford, Hilmar, Fresno, Penn Valley, Chico, Valley Springs, Elk Grove, Ione, Sonora, Stockton, Acampo, Galt, Lodi and Woodbridge in California, along with Reno and Carson City, Nev., Brookings, Ore. and North Carolina.
