A favorite place to eat: I love going to Strings, they have the best tortellini with pesto in Lodi (creamy sauce is a must). Also, their mixed salad and warm and delicious bread is amazing.

One thing not to miss on a tour of Lodi: Pigs Lake deep inside Lodi Lake. It’s always changing with the seasons, and a lot of wildlife love to hang out on the branches floating just above the water. It’s very beautiful when the algae starts to bloom.

Favorite outing in or around Lodi: Lodi Stadium 12 has an awesome theater. Seats are comfy, the building is clean, and the staff is always friendly. It’s even better when I go when the kids are in school because I have the theater all to myself ... mostly.

One secret most outsiders don’t know about Lodi: When Lodi has events like the Grape Festival or Lodi Street Faire, a few of the vendors sell the best funnel cakes around. Any other place I’ve gone to just isn’t the same.

Favorite place to browse or shop: Lodi Junction always catches my eye when I go to Downtown. Not only do they have some items great for projects, but they have some really nice furniture there, too.

Is there something quirky but cool about Lodi? The grape murals at the Lodi Grape Festival. Every time I go, there are always different ways local communities create works of art ... out of grapes. Anywhere else I feel it would be out of place, but in Lodi, it’s a big part of our lives.
