• When will the grand jury investigate the cowardly way Lodi law enforcement sets up their cowardly license/dui checkpoints? Always on the east side away from any wine or alcohol related events and in the wrong directional flow of traffic and not on the evenings that these alcohol/drug consuming events take place and only seemingly to target poor, immigrant unlicensed minorities from the east side of Lodi and not the well connected, prestigious drunks known to frequent these never ending events that encourage drivers to suck up the booze and then continue to another venue for more and then attempt to drive home? In my opinion, this is criminal in itself and the idiot who plans these checkpoints needs to be questioned as to the priority of the off beat locations chosen, usually at a property, I assume "rented" from Geweke or one of the good old boys who have blighted, abandoned property that seem to be convenient to LPD for their same old east side locations.

• Council person Mounce, you know as well as I do that the developers were supposed to have paid for the unnecessary and unneeded water treatment plant, too. That is until the three amigos pandered to tehm and stuck the ratepayers of Lodi with the tab while developers like Geweke, Katzakian, Gillespie and Doucette stuffed their pockets with that $45 million or so. Now that you and the rest of the council have given Gillespie some sort of amnesty or pardon from their contracts at Reynolds Ranch and the two Gateway projects, I see the building already has begun at RR, apparent with a Starbucks and then a mattress franchise, with more to come soon. And now Gillespie is licking his chops to build senior housing? Council certainly had to know knew these projects were coming up at RR, yet you let the developer off the hook anyway? And rumors are Doucette and FCB want to also start building more of their tract homes? Who is paying for the infrastructure of the present building going on at RR?

• And water from the Mokelumne river just downstream from the Waste Management garbage dump transfer station, where some of the the worst readings from the water watchers come from. What planning commission and city council in their right mind would have allowed Vaccarezza to build there attracting vermin, birds and their droppings to be massive runoff adding to the pollution and contamination of the pesticides, herbicides, sulfur and other poisons from the agriculturists, mostly wine grape growers? It seems only the likes of livable, lovable Lodi and their pandering, greedy council and management teams. And then pull off the biggest boondoggle of all, the unnecessary and unneeded water treatment plant that was to be paid for by the local developers, but ended up costing the taxpayers of Lodi tens of millions of dollars. No one knows for sure because the final cost and numbers seem to be in a protected mode. For a project with an engineer's estimate of around 32 million and the low bidder at around 21 million and 45 million or so in bonding, it seems like that 45 million in bond funds is more than twice the winning contractors bid? Just how much of the 45 million bond was used for the unnecessary and unneeded water treatment plant and how much was used for other projects not included in this bond funding?

• I don't pay any attention to the spin of the hucksters from either side of the aisle, but I do pay attention to the fine cuisine and service at the Woodbridge Crossing. Great job, Mr. Ding and staff for the best dining experience in Lodi or Woodbridge.

• Ms. Treichel, apparently only those in livable, lovable Lodi? Where else do you read of any money hungry city or little burg like Lodi that fines the animal owner and then takes the animal to court to decide its fate? Sentencing one's pet to be euthanized is punishment enough and adding over $700 in fines is nothing but a case of pure city greed.
