A guide to Lodi-area hotels
The Lodi area has many hotels and motels to fit any traveler's
budget. Here's a look at what's available:
Bed and breakfasts
Amorosa Inn and
Gardens

- Background: The inn is a 3,500 square-foot home. It was started
by the Matsons, who wanted to combine quality wine with a relaxing,
cozy bed and breakfast experience. The bed and breakfast inn is
coupled with their winery, Vino Con Brio.

Inn at
Locke House
19960 N. Elliott Road, Lockeford

- Background: The inn was built by Dr. Dean Jewett Locke, a
native of New Hampshire, who settled in the area with his
wife.
Originally a two-story New England-style cottage, it was rebuilt
into a 22-room, three-story, neo-Georgian-style brick house and
three-level water tower. It was partly restored in the 1960s by
Locke's grandson, John Thorpe, and his wife, Kathryn Thorpe.
After the death of John Thorpe, Richard and Lani Eklund moved from
Alexandria, Va. to complete the restoration and renovation and The
Inn at Locke House Bed and Breakfast was born.

- Background: The inn and cattle ranch surrounding it is owned by
Joe and Ann Mehrten. Joe was born and raised in the ranch home,
which is now the inn. His ancestors settled in California in the
mid-1800s.

site was built by Burton Towne in 1902. Wine and Roses Country Inn
