When it was announced that Oliver Stone was going to direct
"World Trade Center" - Hollywood's first major film about the
September 11 terrorist attacks - people were skeptical, to say the
least. Forget about Stone's talents as a filmmaker; it's the man's
politics that took center stage in the debate over whether he was
the best candidate to explore such uncharted territory.

Although thousands of unfortunate souls perished in Tuesday's
fiery attack on New York's twin World Trade Center towers, Lodi's
Corey Daniel was among the fortunate - escaping the blazing
structure unhurt just minutes before it collapsed into a pile of
smoldering rubble.

towers should be made into a memorial, just like the Arizona
Memorial at Pearl Harbor.

down vast stretches of New York on Tuesday, stranding millions of
people in their homes, offices and on the streets. Many could not
get home or reach loved ones by phone.

Ten years have passed all too quickly since a malevolent,
fanatic enemy chose to strike unexpectedly at symbolic buildings in
New York and Washington. Like the 1941 attack on Pearl Harbor,
innocent people were violently killed while going about their own
daily lives, civilian or military.

NEW YORK - Mounting an audacious attack against the United
States, terrorists crashed two hijacked airliners into the World
Trade Center and brought down the twin 110-story towers Tuesday
morning. A jetliner also slammed into the Pentagon as the seat of
government itself came under attack.

waged against the United States, knife-wielding hijackers crashed
two airliners into the World Trade Center on Tuesday, toppling its
twin 110-story towers. The deadly calamity was witnessed on
televisions across the world as another plane slammed into the
Pentagon, and a fourth crashed outside Pittsburgh.

can find friends we lost touch with during the year. It's the
