The Delta: On the Sacramento River, striper trollers are fishing areas of Isleton to Walnut Grove, Cache Slough up in the shipping channel and West Bank, using Rebels, Bombers, P-Line Angry Eyes, P-Line Predators and shallow-running Yozuris. Most fish are 9 pounds with an occasional fish in the teens.

The Delta: On the Sacramento River, trollers are working areas of Isleton, up Cache Slough in the shipping channel and West Bank, using Rebels, Bombers, P-Line Angry Eyes, P-Line Predators and shallow-running Yozuris. They’re also catching fish out of the mouth of Steamboat Slough.

The Delta: On the Sacramento River, the wind didn’t seem to stop the striper fishing this week. White caps and all, fish were being caught. Trollers are working areas of Isleton, the old Dairy, West Bank and Steamboat Slough, using Rebels, Bombers, P-Line Angry Eyes, P-Line Predators and shallow-running Yozuris.

The Delta: Fishing for stripers is hot and cold right now on the Sacramento River. Trollers are working just about the same areas this week in the Shipping Channel, Long Island to the Ryde Hotel, Clyde Shoals, the old dairy and the West Bank down to Collinsville, using deep-diving Rebels, shallow-running Bombers, P-Line Angry Eyes, P-Line Predators and shallow-running Yozuris. Fish are running from keeper size up to 10 pounds.

The Delta: On the Sacramento River, striper trollers are working from Sandy Beach to Collinsville on the West Bank. Most fish run from keeper size to 8 pounds, with an occasional fish in the teens. Anglers are using the usual striper lures; Rebels, Bombers, Yozuris, Angry Eyes and Predators.

The Delta: On the Sacramento River, striper trollers are catching keeper-size to fish in the teens around Rio Vista, in Montezuma and Prospect sloughs. Shallow-running Yozuris seem to be working the best this week.

The Delta: On the Sacramento River, trollers are working the areas of Montezuma Slough, West Bank and Sherman Island, using Yozuris and Rebels. Wayne Purdy of Lodi caught a 65-pound, 57-inch sturgeon on Monday. Jack Clemons caught and released two nice-sized sturgeon and also had limits of stripers to 13 pounds around the Light 14 area. We have other confirmed reports catching keeper-size sturgeon in Cache Slough.

The 10th Annual Bob McMillen Memorial Fishing Tournament will be held Feb. 2 at Oak Grove Regional Park in Stockton. Approximately 2,700 pounds of rainbow trout will be stocked in Oak Grove’s 10-acre lake prior to the event.

The Delta: The anglers we do have reports from fished in the Cache Slough and Liberty Island areas of the Sacramento River. They said the catch is low because the water is very cold, The only report of catching sturgeon came out of San Pablo Bay. The best baits to use are ghost shrimp, mud shrimp, eel, while some have had success on shad.

The Delta: Not many reports with the weather and holiday, but traditionally, the best area for striper trollers this time of year on the Sacramento River are the Old Dairy, Decker Island, West Bank, Sherman Island, Broad Slough and Montezuma Slough.

The Delta: Trollers on the Sacramento River are striper fishing around the Old Dairy, Decker Island and the West Bank down to Sherman Island to Broad Slough, and inside of Montezuma. Most fish have been 6-10 pounds with an occasional fish in the teens. Best lures are Bombers, Yozuri shallow runners and Pucci Angry Eyes.

The Delta: On the Sacramento River, there are still a few anglers trolling for stripers in the Horseshoe and West Bank, from Sherman Island down to Broad Slough. Trolling inside Montezuma has been successful too. Most fish have been 6-10 pounds with two fish in the teens. Best lures are Rebels, Bombers and Yozuris, both shallow running and deep diving.

The Delta: On the Sacramento River, striper fishing has slowed down due to the excessive rains, but there were some reports of fish being caught bait fishing Decker Island area to the Sherman Island area. Favored baits are shad, sardines and mudsuckers.

The Delta: In the Sacramento River, striper anglers are trolling the West Bank, Sherman Island to Broad Slough and inside Montezuma Slough. They're pulling shallow running Bombers, spreaders with large Rat-L-Traps or shallow running Yozuris.

The Delta: Striper anglers are having fun right now on the Sacramento River. Trollers are fishing the areas of West Bank, Horseshoe, Light 1 and into Montezuma Slough. They’re pulling spreaders with shallow or deep Yozuris and Rebels.
