The final seconds before Andre Belaski, of the Lodi Police Department, released his K9 onto the field were tense for Taz, the German shepherd. Every one of the dog’s wiry muscles were ready to explode at the chance to search cars for potential suspects. Belaski shouted a warning, letting the suspect know a K9 was on the way, ready to bite. Then Taz barked once, and bolted to work.

Justin Santos tripled with one out in the bottom of the sixth and scored on a sacrifice fly by Austin Vickers to give the Eagles an 8-7 lead and Jacob Olson drove in an insurance run with a sacrifice fly as Elliot Christian edged Brookside Christian, 9-7, in a thriller at Tony Zupo Field on Monday night.

provided by Anne McLeod, with the California Hospital Association;
and the political wit was offered by the irrepressible political

The rains finally stopped and Tony Zupo Field played host to the
Lodi Glory’s 2011 home opener under clear skies on Friday
After their first three scheduled home openers were called off
because of weather, the Glory were finally able to play but
suffered a 7-3 loss to the Nevada Bullets in Far West League
action. After Nevada went up 7-2 on a four-run eighth inning, the
Glory threatened in the bottom of the ninth by scoring one run but
left the bases loaded to end the game.

After rain postponed their first three attempts of playing their
home opener at Tony Zupo Field, the Lodi Glory will try again today
as they are set to host Nevada at 7:10 p.m.

After rain canceled the Lodi Glory's 2011 season opener on
Wednesday against the Lodi American Legion baseball team at Tony
Zupo Field, the Glory finally got to open it's season on Friday

team by 10 runs earlier in the season is no guarantee of a playoff

Tokay Tigers pitcher Kevin Hartung struck out 13 batters and
allowed just four hits in eight innings but it was not enough to
overcome a rash of seven errors and an anemic Tiger offense in a
6-2 loss to Stagg in baseball action on Monday at Tony Zupo
The Tigers (13-7, 2-2 Tri-City Athletic League) had chances to
win the game in the sixth, seventh and eighth innings but stranded
seven runners and could not cash in on its opportunities in a key
battle with the Delta Kings (9-7, 3-1 TCAL).
