For the third time in two seasons, the Lodi Flames varsity football team will square off with the football titans of Buhach Colony.
On paper, Lodi is once again the underdog against the Thunder from Atwater.
Just like the teams' two meetings last fall — a 42-7 non-conference loss and a 48-13 Division II playoff rout to end the year — the Flames face a collection of speedy tailbacks, running behind a physical offensive line.
But for Lodi, tonight is just another challenge, another chance to get battle-tested for the regular-season playoff push.

Tokay Tigers senior guard Trevor Mabalon scored 24 points,
including five 3-pointers, and center Zack Leffler added 10 points
but the Tigers could not overcome a cold-shooting night in a 60-46
loss to host McNair Eagles on Friday in boys basketball action.
Tokay (12-14, 3-6 Tri-City Athletic League) fell behind against
the first-place Eagles (19-4, 8-1 TCAL) 51-29, with five minutes
remaining in the fourth quarter. However, Mabalon and Leffler each
connected on a pair of 3s to spark a 14-0 run and shave the deficit
to 51-43 at the 2:26 mark.

Six local area high school wrestlers advanced to the second
round of competition on the first day of the Sac-Joaquin Section
Masters Championships Friday at Stockton Arena.
Tokay's Andrew Richards and Justin Lewis advanced to today's
rounds as did Lodi's Jacob Holley. Lodi resident Jim Wilson, who
attends McNair High, punched his ticket to the state championship
meet with three straight wins. Liberty Ranch also sent two
wrestlers to today's final round with 103-pounder Chase Agrella
going 3-1 and 171-pounder Christian Giovannie also going 3-1.

It didn't take long for the Tigers to find out why McNair is in
first place in the Tri-City Athletic League boys basketball
standings. The Eagles jumped on Tokay early, racing out to a 21-6
