State Sen. Loni Hancock, D-Oakland, on Thursday introduced Senate Bill 1199 to designate 37 miles of the North Fork and main Mokelumne River as a State Wild and Scenic River. The Mokelumne provides 90 percent of the water for Hancock’s constituents in the East Bay, and 100 percent of the water for Lodi residents.

The San Joaquin County grand jury has commended Woodbridge Sanitary District officials for the significant progress they've made in correcting issues brought to the grand jury more than a year ago.
"The 2011-12 grand jury is satisfied with the action the district has made in adopting the recommendations made by the 2010-11 grand jury," according to a recent report from jurors. "The grand jury commends the accelerated progress the district has taken."

covered by both the Lodi News-Sentinel and Stockton Record. Channel
13 KOVR also did a segment entitled “On the Money” on July 12. The
phrase “Something Smells in Woodbridge” was created by the Channel
13 producer, Mike Luery, to lead off the segment.
