Recently there've been a few letters to the editor about shooting someone over stealing a case of beer. This same liberal society who believes it's OK to steal a case of beer is the same group who thinks it's OK to kill a baby in the womb — under the guise that it's her body, it is her choice. Well, why can't she be a prostitute? It's her body, it's her choice.

Dear Straight Talk: I am writing about my
friend. She has a problem with shoplifting, maybe even an
addiction. I would like to help her stop before she gets caught
because she is over 18 and it will result in a criminal record. I
have known her for years. When we were younger, I shoplifted makeup
a couple times with her, but it scares me too much and doesn’t feel
right to steal. She is a good person except for this. Over the
holidays she stole so much stuff it almost made me sick. Does
anyone on the panel have shoplifting experience and if so, how did
they stop? Maybe it will help her. — Sammie, Toledo,

On Dec. 20, Lurdes Rosales, the vice principal at Lodi Middle
School, did something unprecedented in the history of the Lodi
Unified School District: She placed a teacher under citizen’s
arrest.
Rosales conducted the citizen’s arrest following an incident in
which she claims John Lapachet, a physical education instructor at
the school, blew a whistle in her ear and jostled her in front of
students.

The idea that “65 percent of Americans approve of spanking
children” is to our shame, since every civilized country on this
planet has banned corporal punishment in schools — and in many, in
private homes as well — except USA, where the myth prevails that
violence against children is “discipline,” and therefore “good for
them.” For years, every country in Europe has outlawed spanking and
other forms of abuse. Hitting a child is a cowardly act.
