The best goal in Major League Soccer this year came from an unlikely source. As a defender for the Seattle Sounders, Lodi native Patrick Ianni never gets many chances to find the net; drafted in 2006, he has four career goals. And on June 20 against Sporting Kansas City, he returned from a back injury that had sidelined him for the previous six games.

There were only three hits and hitting machine David Cooper had
one of them.
The Tokay High graduate went 1-for-1 and also drew a walk as a
member of the Pacific Coast League All-Star team in Wednesday's
Triple-A All-Star game against the International League All-Stars
in Salt Lake City. The International League squad won 3-0 and held
the Pacific Coast League to three hits in the game.

Zachary Bowman graduated as valedictorian of Lodi High School’s
Class of 1996. He received the Frank H. Buck Scholarship in 1996
and attended the University of California, Irvine, before
transferring to Point Loma Nazarene University. He graduated from
the Medical University of South Carolina and did his residency in
obstetrics and gynecology at University of California, San Diego
Medical Center.

Dear Barbara: We are going to have a picnic by a lake on the
Fourth of July. I know every year at this time you talk about food
safety, but I still have a question. I know there is a two hour
limit on leaving foods out like potato salad, deviled eggs, etc.
What if the dish contains no dairy? Does it still have a time
limit?
