A collection of eager children wiggled in their seats at the World of Wonders Science Museum on Saturday morning during the third annual Digology event. They had been told by their parents that digging for fossils was in the plan for the day, but first there was some learning to do.

because it is what drives the economy. San Joaquin County is
crucial to the agricultural production of the United States, and
without it, he said, our area is dead. In support of local

Michael Stokes was born and raised in the farming business. A
third-generation agri-businessman, Stokes began farming at the age
of 18 when he worked for his parents. He and his brother, Bill,
then ventured out on their own.

When Tom Peterson first began his career as a city hall reporter
in San Diego, he decided he liked what the people in city
government were doing. After working in city government for two
years in San Diego, Peterson relocated to Lodi, where he served two

Music has been a part of Bob Gross's life for as long as he can
remember. He began playing the French horn at age 9, and he
continues 60 years later. He enjoys being able to share music with
others, and has done so by playing his instrument in various local
bands and serving as a music director.

To many in the community, Elmer Kludt was hard-working, honest
and caring. He actively served Lodi through his business and
involvement in community groups. For his contributions in community
service, Kludt was chosen posthumously as an inductee for the Lodi
Community Hall of Fame.

Six Lodians have been named to the Lodi Community Hall of Fame
for 2011. Sponsored by the Lodi Boys and Girls Club, the Hall of
Fame program recognizes local men and women who have made enduring
contributions to the Lodi community. Inductees are to be honored at
a dinner and program set for Nov. 5.

As Jamie Henderson ran a microscope over her jeans, the
