On April 13, the Lodi Elks Lodge No. 1900 honored all the volunteers and officers who worked throughout the year on projects to enhance the local community. An appreciation dinner was provided by the Elks and hosted by Mike Dugan, outgoing Exalted Ruler. Award presentations were given and one member, Mary Avanti, stood out as the Citizen of the Year. The Sacramento Area Council of Governments on Thursday approved changes to the city of Galt's C Street completion project, allowing a reduced scope version of the project to move forward.

San Joaquin County Superior Court is seeking applicants to serve on the 2013-14 civil grand jury. The grand jury is comprised of 19 residents whose names are randomly selected from applicants nominated by Superior Court judges. They serve for one year, beginning July 1.
