Adopting Harley will guarantee that you will always have joy in your heart, companionship in your home and a little fur on your clothes and furniture. Harley came to her foster home with three litter mates when they were 10 days old and were raised with lots of affection and attention. She loves to be picked up and purrs like a little motorboat, and she frequently runs around the house like she has rockets strapped to her. Harley is now ready for adoption and would love a forever home where she will continue to be loved and thrive. If you want more information regarding Harley, please call PALS at (209) 224-0354. We have other cats, kittens and dogs available for adoption, so stop by the PALS Adoption Center located in Lodi at 1405 W. Kettleman Lane. Center hours are Monday and Wednesday to Saturday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. – closed Tuesday and Sunday. PALS is a Lodi-based, nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the welfare of companion animals in Lodi by increasing the number of animals adopted, reducing animal suffering and providing the highest level of humane care, thus ultimately reducing the number of surplus companion animals euthanized in the city of Lodi. Visit our link at petfinder.com to view cats and dogs currently available for adoption or our Web site at www.palslodi.org and find out how you can volunteer and/or foster the many animals waiting for permanent homes.

(NewsUSA) - Tick-borne illnesses are found throughout the United States. Though Lyme disease, transmitted by blacklegged ticks, is the most pervasive and publicly discussed, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) lists a wide range of diseases spread by ticks. With tens of thousands of people impacted each year from such illnesses, the National Pest Management Association (NPMA) advises summer enthusiasts about the danger of disease transmission from ticks and encourages them to take proper precautions to protect against exposure to these blood-sucking pests.

The allure of gardens can entice even the busiest of us to venture through their gates to the enchanting world that lies beyond. The solitude invites us to take a break from the activities of the day, the flowers beckoning us to smell their unique aromas, and the thought of hidden secrets behind the furniture, underneath rocks and in the slightly hidden corners remind us of adventures of our past — and if you are young or still young at heart, a invitation to future adventures waiting to begin.
