A parachutist suffered cuts to his face and shoulder while possibly breaking a leg after crashing into a vineyard northwest of Peltier Road and the western Highway 99 frontage road shortly after 1 p.m. Sunday, according to the San Joaquin County Sheriff's Office.

DAN EVANS/NEWS-SENTINEL Two people were killed while practicing a skydiving stunt at the Parachute Center North of Lodi on Sunday. Three skydivers were training for an upcoming competition when tywo of their lines became entangled and they fell to the ground. One died on scene and the other late at Lodi Memorial Hospital.

A man died Thursday after crash-landing in a vineyard off of Jahant Road while skydiving at the Lodi Parachute Center. The victim was identified Friday as William L. Calhoun, 71, of Novato, Calif.
