Drive a-round Lodi, and you can't help but notice the number of Christian churches. There are at least 60. Some have begun within the last several years. I happen to pastor one that is nearing its 100th anniversary. While they are different, every one of them is rooted in the same story revealed in the Bible — the story of God's mission of love to redeem and restore a lost and broken world.

Then, Warren Sapp was inducted into the NFL Hall of Fame, Reggie Johnson's tip-in kept Miami undefeated in ACC hoops and five Hurricane alums on the Ravens became world champions while Frank Gore rushed for 110 yards in a losing effort.

As a high school recruit, Pete Murdaca was struck by Jim Harbaugh's competitive drive and acute attention to detail.
As a freshman quarterback at Nevada-Reno, he marveled at Colin Kaepernick's unshakable confidence and composure in pressure situations.
So Murdaca, a Lodi native and former St. Mary's standout, is not surprised to see the two faces of the San Francisco 49ers performing in football's biggest game.
