The Lodi Animal Shelter has been named the best shelter in San Joaquin County, according to a recent countywide study. In 2012, the shelter had the lowest euthanasia rates and highest adoption rates of any other shelter in the county.

Nancy Alumbaugh was all smiles as rain began to sprinkle down
and the chilly wind began to pick up outside the boutique store
People Assisting the Lodi Animal Shelter held its fourth annual crab feed at the Japanese American Citizens League community hall on Saturday, Jan. 8, 2011, to raise funds for a larger shelter. According to PALS co-founder Nancy Alumbaugh, the event drew a capacity crowd of 224 guests through word of mouth.

When Carol Evans' daughter turned 14, she began volunteering for
People Assisting Lodi Animal Shelter (PALS). After working there
for several months, she convinced Evans to also help out. Together,
mother and daughter began walking dogs for the organization. Since
March of 2006, Evans has been dedicated to helping out at PALS, and
says she believes that she and her daughter are the only
mother-daughter team there.

Nancy Alumbaugh rushed in and out of homes Monday with
volunteers from the LOEL Center's Meals on Wheels program. The PALS
volunteer carried a box of Scooby Doo dog biscuits and had a pocket
full of colorful mice.

presentation on a new adoption program.
