There will be a major shakeup of operations at the San Joaquin
Fair in Stockton. Lodi resident Mitch Slater, who served on the
fair's board of directors for eight years, and four others on the
nine-member board were removed from office in one of Arnold
Schwarzenegger's final acts as governor.

The Lodi Unified School District has posted information about
the feral, or wild, cat population that can be found on campuses
throughout the district. Mitch Slater, the district's maintenance
and operations director, warns people not to feed wild cats.

Fleas have invaded Victor School. Students from one classroom
were moved to another room last Friday after fleas were discovered
there, school Principal Allison Gerrity said. The students are
still relocated this week — until after the carpets are
deep-cleaned either today or Friday, Gerrity said.

hold off a year to make drastic changes at Lawrence and Sutherland
elementary schools. Both were named by the state among the
persistently lowest performing, and mandated to subscribe to one of
