Lodi seniors who have missed exercising in the Hutchins Street Square pool while it has been closed for repairs will be able to start working out again at a local fitness club.
We have a lot of talented people working for the City of Lodi, including several who work within the Parks, Recreation and Cultural Services Department.

They are the people who answer your phone calls, who help you find books and who keep the theater lights on. While city of Lodi employees spend their days keeping things running, many spend their nights and weekends behind cameras and easels. Now, 10 city employees are showing their artistic side at a group show for January’s First Friday Art Hop.

Track team members from Tokay and Lodi high schools served as volunteer judges, timers and officials of the meet. Winners in some events will qualify for the Hershey NorCal state championship meet in San Jose.

Music with a strong bass beat is pumping out of speakers, played
by a DJ with crooked headphones. A few hundred Lodi and Tokay high
school students are packed inside a dimly lit hall. Girls are
dressed in neon sports bras or tank tops and bright spandex shorts.
Guys are sporting bright T-shirts and jeans. People are sweating in
the heat from so many bodies and the fierce movement.

For all 70 years of the Grape Bowl’s existence, high school
football teams have been playing on grass; and in recent years,
very poor grass at that. The dimly lit Grape Bowl was showing its
age, and the field along with it.

Marilyn Field describes herself as a tomboy. For this reason,
when she was a child, she loved to play anything that was
sports-related. Since she was raised before girls had the
opportunity to play team sports, she never received the training
she needed to fully learn them.

for 2010. Sponsored by the Lodi Boys and Girls Club, the Hall of

Delanie Reynolds, 11, was recently promoted from Reese
Elementary School with perfect attendance since kindergarten. She
says her parents helped give her the incentive to go to school
every day and accomplish more of her goals. She hopes to keep her
perfect attendance all the way through high school. She is the
daughter of Curtis and Ronda Reynolds, of Lodi.

President Randy Heinitz of the Kiwanis Club presented the
Kiwanian of the Year award to two members recently at the annual
