Liberty Ranch High School’s prom was held on at the Lodi Woman’s Club on Saturday, April 14, 2012. There were 300 students who attended prom, which had the theme “A Red Carpet Affair.” The event included Hollywood decor.

The Galt Joint Union School District Board of Trustees last Thursday agreed to allow Liberty Ranch High School to switch graduation dates with Estrellita High School, thus clearing the way for Liberty Ranch to hold its ceremony on June 5 at Memorial Auditorium in Sacramento.

Galt Joint Union High School District trustees narrowly approved
holding Liberty Ranch High School’s 2012 graduation ceremony at
Sacramento Memorial Auditorium. The 3-2 vote was taken at a special
meeting Monday.

A capacity crowd jammed Liberty Ranch High School’s gymnasium to
attend a memorial service for LRHS student body president Taylor
Steele on on Saturday, Aug. 13, 2011. Steele died at the age of 17
on Aug. 8, after a five-year battle with ovarian cancer. She was
active in student politics and sports, and was the founder of the
Strong as Steele Cancer Foundation, which raises funds for research
and outreach.

Agriculture students at the two-year-old high school developed and coordinated the fair to build interest in elementary school students who will eventually attend the Liberty Ranch. Mandy Garner, director of the agriculture department, hopes to expand the fair next year to include third-grade students from all Galt elementary schools that feed into Liberty Ranch.
