Background: A seventh-generation Californian, he moved to Lodi in 1991 and became the executive director of the Winegrape Commission. He held that position until 2011. He owns 188 acres of vineyards, which he runs with his wife and son.
Family: He has been married to his wife Jan for 16 years. His son David, 31, helps with the winery, and his daughter Laura works for the Lymphoma and Leukemia Society in Boise, Idaho.
Career: He owns Chandler & Company Wine Consultancy.
Education: He earned a degree in agribusiness from California Polytechnic University, San Luis Obispo, and earned a master’s degree in organization, management and development from Field and Ground University in Santa Barbara.
Community activities and board memberships: Past president of of the Lodi Rotary Club; member of the Lodi Green Belt Task Force; Lodi Community Hall of Fame honoree; inductee into the San Joaquin County Agriculture Hall of Fame.
