A funeral for Bobbi Deann Highfill, 57, of Valley Springs, who died Jan. 1, will be held at 10 a.m. today at Faith Community Church of the Nazarene, 18621 N. Highway 99, Lodi. A shuffling of grass and the shouts of “Aquí!” or “Here! Here!” could be heard from the street near Leroy Nichols Elementary School. A swift kick sent a soccer ball careening through the air. The screech of a whistle blowing drowned out the passing cars.

Lodi resident Stacy Lee Knutson sat in the grass of his front yard, handcuffed, with his young, smiling son wiggling in his lap. His daughter played with her pink bouncy ball, weaving in and out of a circle of roughly 10 police officers and detectives from Lodi, Stockton and San Joaquin County.
Knutson’s home was just one of 220 places named and visited in a citywide sweep conducted by the Lodi Police Department with the help of the San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Department, San Joaquin County Probation, Stockton Police Department, Lodi Police Department, California State Parole and Delta RATT.
