I want to welcome all of you to this year’s Lodi Grape Festival. As you can see in this publication, there are a lot of exciting things going on at the fair. Our ultimate goal of the event is to promote agriculture with a focus on grapes.
Each food concession at the fair has been asked to sell an item with grapes in it; please try these new items. We have also added the Wine Cellar with four wine tasting sessions.

The 2009 Jessie’s Grove Lodi Ancient Vine Tokay ($35/500 ML) is like a strangely beautiful, exotic bird, kept well in an aviary for all to see. According to winemaker/proprietor Greg Burns, it is “a tribute to a part of Lodi’s past that I hope will never be forgotten.”

I cannot help thinking that the members of the California
Legislature and the members of our Congress have been instrumental
in perpetuating the prediction that our world is coming to an end
today, May 21. The fact that they will not come to terms on budgets
may be because they see the end coming soon.
