The Lodi Chamber of Commerce’s Hispanic Business Committee will promote what it offers to local business people at a mixer from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Mariscos Las Islitas seafood restaurant, located in the Big Kmart shopping center at 550 S. Cherokee Lane.

Holiday shoppers had three choices if they wanted to get their gifts early. Friday was Black Friday, in which stores offered goods that brought shoppers to the store before the sun rose. Saturday was Small-Business Saturday, which had great participation from Downtown Lodi merchants. Then there was Cyber Monday, where people could purchase discounted items, but only through the business' website.

including six for driving under the influence, according to the

You live near Highway 99 on the north side of the Mokelumne
River, but you don't have a car. That means you can't cross the
river over the Highway 99 bridge, which is just a stone's throw
away. Instead, you must walk or bike 2.5 miles west to Lower
Sacramento Road and south through Woodbridge.

Mark Owens is the franchise owner of two Liberty Tax Service
centers in Lodi. The native of Connecticut moved to Lodi in the
early 1990s and purchased the two Liberty franchises in 2006. He
also works as a self-employed real estate appraiser for his
company, Owens Appraisal Associates.
