This past year, art, music and culture blossomed in Lodi. The first-ever music festival in town was held at Lodi Lake, and a production of the longest running musical of all time hit Hutchins Street Square’s main stage. Plus, two new art galleries opened in the area and a book signing was held for a stunning collection of nature’s beauty in America.

Downtown Lodi will soon have a bistro with vintage-style entertainment. Called The Rustic Mic Entertainment House and Bistro, the upscale eatery will have coffee, an espresso bar, beer, wine and desserts. But owner Jaime Watts hopes people will come for the live music, blues, jazz, pianos and vintage movies on an 80-inch TV.

Downtown business owner Ken Pratt says he's upset that he paid his annual dues to the Downtown Lodi Business Partnership in January, yet he won't be getting a full year's service from the organization.
"I paid my dues to an organization that stopped existing three months after," said Pratt, owner of Stooges, a bar on West Pine Street. "Not that they did that much."
The partnership is in the process of disbanding after serving Downtown Lodi businesses for more than 13 years. The first step toward disbanding will be tonight, when the Lodi City Council considers issuing a resolution of intent to discontinue the DLBP.

The Downtown Lodi Business Partnership is folding its tent after a run of 14 years. It was a good show and deserves a good review.

The Chamber will take over the two largest DLBP events, the Farmers Market and the Parade of Lights.

Property owners gathered Thursday night to discuss what projects
they would like to see paid for by a proposed property improvement
district and also share some of their concerns.

a business improvement district that will allow for cosmetic
improvements in the area. The plans include repainting posts
throughout Downtown and power washing sidewalks, said Jaime Watts
