Service on the J-Mack Ferry has been suspended because of emergency repairs to the underground cable that guides the ferry, according to the California Department of Transportation. The cable snapped due to heavy current, which caused storm debris.

The California Department of Transportation will suspend service of the J-Mack Ferry on Sunday morning to perform routine preventive maintenance. The J-Mack is scheduled to be closed from 6 a.m. to noon.

The Real McCoy II Ferry is now open for limited service. The California Department of Transportation us offering three round-trip crossings of the ferry per hour between Rio Vista and Ryer Island.

The Delta: In the Sacramento River, sturgeon
fishing is tough right now, but the upcoming storms should change
things around. A couple of local fisherman caught sturgeon,
weighing 55 pounds, from the area of Roe and Ryer Island and a
47-pounder came in from Light 14. There were also two over-sized
fish caught in Cache Slough using eel and pile worms.
