Concerning President Obama's recent executive order creating amnesty for certain illegal aliens: Just how compassionate is it to split families by keeping the kids and deporting the parents?

Present U.S.A. illegal immigration law states six months in prison for entering the U.S.A. illegally. There is a present law stating four years in prison for not leaving the U.S.A. when ordered to, period.

There are bleeding heart liberals all over California wringing their collective hands regarding the recent legislation that was passed in Arizona regarding "illegal" immigration.

This is how to lower the state deficit; lower all wages of government employees. Anyone making more than $200,000 lower by 20 percent; more than $150,000 by 15 percent; more than $100,000 by 10 percent; more than $50,000 by 5 percent.

This is in response to the long, very sympathetic article in the paper, Aug. 25, regarding the shattered lives of the forced returns of illegal Mexicans to Mexico. It leaves me feeling sad for California.

Twice since last October, Juan Antonio Velazquez was arrested and booked into the Lodi jail.

I am like many other people who get their thoughts bogged down when it comes to this subject, "Ship 'em back," "Lock em up," or "Hold the employer liable for hiring illegals."

The U.S. does not have an immigration problem. Americans face a demographic invasion promoted by the Mexican government and encouraged by the U.S. government's do-nothing pandering. The Mexicans call this invasion 'Reconquista;" the reconquering of California, Texas, New Mexico and Arizona. Mexico believes it has a territorial right to these states and other parts of the U.S. Presently, this is an unarmed invasion; but many Mexican advocate groups are becoming aggressive and militant. Tens of thousands of Mexicans in California boldly demonstrated and marched, flying the Mexican flag, with the American flag hung below upside down! This is not assimilation into America's melting pot. This is not about illegal immigration or undocumented workers. This is a planned takeover by Mexico and the greatest threat to America's survival since World War II.

Three years ago, our 39-year-old daughter was hit while cycling in the bicycle lane near her home in Lodi. It was a speeding, uninsured, unemployed illegal immigrant (Mexican) with a suspended driver's license because of previous infractions.

No one is surprised but millions of Americans are disappointed and angry. The estimated number of work permits to be issued to alien DREAMers now stands at 2 million.

First, let me say that my reaction and response to the article on Sept. 1 is not about race or nationality, but it is about illegal residency in California and the United States. Legal immigration built this country, and I am all for everyone in pursuit of the American Dream. However, I strongly oppose those who are here illegally because they never pledge their true allegiance to our country, our ideals and our way of life. They are entitled to nothing.

They fired my rocket (again) as I watched the news, May 25, and I saw that Sacramento has joined in with city leaders scared of the illegals.

The state of the economy in the world is bad - every nation has its woes. A huge part of California's woes are in the millions and millions of dollars the illegal immigrants are costing taxpayers.

After two weeks in Pittsburgh, one thing stands out: everything is green.

This is in reference to a letter to the editor by Bonnie Mayer, Lodi News-Sentinel, March 31.

I hope that everyone receiving the News-Sentinel read the letter to the editor on April 25, 2007, entitled, "U.S. Government is betraying citizens," written by Bryan Stamos. Bryan is to be commended for doing his homework regarding illegal immigrants.

Bush's speech was nothing new and avoids the issues in the name of compromise. Here are some real solutions:

Remember Willie Horton? In 1986, Horton was a convicted felon serving life without parole. With his two accomplices, Horton stabbed a 17-year-old gas station attendant multiple times and stuffed his corpse into a trash can. But while incarcerated, Horton received a "weekend pass" as part of a furlough program overseen by then-Massachusetts Governor and future Democratic presidential candidate Michael Dukakis.

On June 14, you published a letter (more like a tirade) from Sonia Glick about so called illegal immigrant children attending college. She said they are here illegally and they should be deported. She also said they can just walk across the border.
