On Sunday, June 9, a small dog wandered into our yard. Normally we would just shoo a dog away but something made us check her out. She was so badly injured due to abuse and neglect but we were able to get her to trust us.

I love caprese salad with homegrown tomatoes, basil, mozzarella cheese, balsamic vinegar, olive oil, sea salt and fresh-ground pepper. The basil is refreshing in summertime, and the mozzarella adds substance.
