Hope Kuehne, a junior at Lodi High School, was selected as Teen
of the Month for April by the Lodi Youth Commission. Kuehne has a
3.5 grade-point average, serves as vice president of Lodi High
School and plays water polo. She also volunteers bi-weekly at the
American Cancer Society Discovery Shop in Stockton and is on the
youth leadership team at Temple Baptist Church.

Ken Davis, the former Lodi Unified School District board
president, has officially filed for a seat on the Stockton City
Council. A Stockton resident, he has made public his interest in
the soon-to-be-vacant seat.

Debbie Olson, who believes Lodi can be "a jewel of the (San
Joaquin) Valley," joined the city's Planning Commission last week.
The longtime Lodi resident and community leader was recommended by
Mayor Bob Johnson over 11 other applicants for the seat. The
position opened earlier this fall when Commissioner Doug Kuehne
announced he was moving from Lodi to Stockton. He will be required
to step down.
