Lilly is a 1-1/2-year-old Labrador and pit bull terrier mix. She was found running the streets with her puppy. Lilly has a lot of energy, loves people and likes to give kisses. She is receiving training to learn not to jump up, but it is hard for her to remember since she gets so excited when she sees someone. She is learning to “sit,” stay” and “lay down.”

Barbara Miller used to routinely take her dog on evening walks by the river near her home — but not anymore. About eight to 10 weeks ago, Miller and some neighbors say they spotted a mountain lion roaming in a field near a river. But by the time she'd found her camera, hoping to capture a picture of the elusive creature, it was gone.
