The ball kept moving — right to left, left to right, into set and back.
And there I was, ever helpless in front of the cage, swerving side to side at the mercy of wherever the ball traveled.
When the shot landed squarely into the right corner of the net, I felt a frustrating setback — but also relief. It meant that I could finally take a brief rest.

The St. Mary’s girls and boys water polo teams remained
undefeated in Tri-City Athletic Association action by the narrowest
of margins on Tuesday as they survived their respective battles
against the Tigers of Tokay High School.
The girls defeated Tokay 6-4 while the boys edged the Tigers
7-6. Even though the Rams already had clinched TCAL titles this
season, senior night at Tokay High School gave the Tigers plenty of
motivation with one last shot at upsetting their rivals.

The Tokay High varsity water polo squads split a doubleheader
against visiting St. Mary's with the Tiger boys edging the Rams,
13-12, in an overtime thriller while the Lady Tigers lost to the
Lady Rams, 8-2, in Tri-City Athletic League action on Thursday.
