More than 450 Tokay High School seniors draped in purple received their diplomas on Thursday night to mark the end of their high school careers. Principal Erik Sandstrom said several times during the 90-minute ceremony at University of the Pacific how impressed he is with the Class of 2013.

Changing Faces Theater Company is bringing a different kind of
performance to Hutchins Street Square: Improvisational comedy. It’s
not stand-up, but it is both funny and interactive with the
Terra Tigerman steps forward to make a joke during a warmup
routine for comedysportz, an improvisational comedy group at Tokay
High School, on Thursday, Jan. 19, 2012. Comedysportz will be
performing tonight at Roseville High School.

The Tokay High School Theater is dimly lit, with laughter
erupting from the first few rows. Five teenagers are scattered
on-stage, frozen, with arms and legs bent akimbo, waiting for a
sixth to tell them what to do next.

Getting back to a state of play. That has always been the quest
for improv comedian Brent Tubbs. During the past 11 years, he has
encouraged people to hop onstage and use their imaginations to come
up with different characters and stories.
