(BPT) - Common cancers have a high level of awareness among Americans – and rightly so. Prevalent cancers like breast, colon or prostate affect a large number of people, and it’s important to be aware of preventive and diagnostic measures. But cancer can also strike in an area of the body many people don’t think about – the feet.

(BPT) - Many women know that getting a Pap test regularly from their health care provider is a good way to check for signs of cervical cancer, the second most common cancer in women worldwide. What they might not know is that a “normal” Pap result does not necessarily mean they are cancer-free.

Ethan Bennett, 23, has made it. The Woodbridge native has run about 30 miles a day for months to raise money and awareness for Livestrong, an organization dedicated to helping those affected by cancer. The Run To Fight is over.

Most of the time when I ask folks about their fiber intake they tell me they get enough. I may hear, "I eat fruits and vegetables," but what I find is that few get the 25 to 35 grams of fiber every day that's recommended.

So he did what he’s done for years to deal with stress: He went for
a run. Two hours circling around his old Woodbridge neighborhood
was enough to clear his mind. The 22-year-old lives for that
runner’s high, for being in a zone where it feels like nothing can
touch him.

Since 2008, Dr. Waleed Ibrahim has practiced gastroenterology,
the branch of medicine that deals with disorders of the stomach and
intestines.
In July, he decided to return to his hometown of Lodi and open
up a practice in the community where he was born.
“My family has been here for 60 years. It’s a great way to give
back to the community,” he said.
