The brother of a Los Angeles Dodgers fan who was killed in a San Francisco brawl that police say was sparked by the long-running Dodgers-Giants rivalry is disputing a Lodi man’s argument that the stabbing was in self-defense.

The father of a Lodi man accused of fatally stabbing a 24-year-old Dodgers fan said his son told him it was self-defense. Michael Montgomery, 21, was arrested and booked into San Francisco Jail on suspicion of homicide, according to the San Francisco Police Department.

Chili’s Grill and Bar is stepping up to host another fundraiser for
Bryan Stow, the Giants fan who was severely beaten at a Los Angeles
Dodgers game on March 31 and remains in a medically-induced coma in
Lodi resident Kelly O’Donnell helped organize a fundraiser for her cousin, Bryan Stow.

Lodi resident Kelly O’Donnell didn’t know what to do.
Her cousin, Bryan Stow, a 42-year-old San Francisco Giants fan
who was brutally beaten by two men in Los Angeles Dodgers gear in
the Dodgers Stadium parking lot after a Dodgers-Giants game on
March 31, was in the hospital fighting for his life. She felt
“I was just sitting her for three days crying because there was
nothing I could do,” O’Donnell said.
